There’s no escaping the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) if you want to further your education in the United States. The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. And you’ve got to know all there is to know about SAT exam registration in Ghana, including the fees and the processes you should follow, all of which we’ll explore in this article.
How much do you have to pay?
Going by the College Board’s breakdown, you must pay $68 for your registration and a $43 international fee. But there are still additional fees you’ll have to settle, including:
- Late registration, which would cost you $34.
- Changing your test centre or cancelling your registration by the change deadline will cost you $29.
- Late cancellation and test centre fees (only for selected locations) will cost $39 and $24, respectively.
So, how do you kick-start the registration process?
You’ll find this step-by-step guide very helpful as you begin your SAT registration:
1. Create an account
You need an account on the College Board website (collegeboard.org) before registering. Why do you need it, though? You can use it to monitor your registration, check out your scores, and get your SAT resources.
2. Select your ideal date and test centre
This should be the best action after you get your account. In Ghana, the SAT takes place six to seven times a year, so you have to choose one, or you’ll have to wait until the following year. And no, you don’t have to come to Accra just to write. You’ll find test centres in Accra, Kumasi and other major cities. Make sure you register early so that you can secure your spot.
3. Fill the form and pay your fees
Remember to fill out the digital registration form with your correct details, including your name, citizenship details, and school. Once this is done, you can pay your fees online.
You’re ready to take your test now that you’ve followed these steps. Make it a point to practice hard because the competition for schools abroad is tight. You may want to work with SAT experts to get the necessary training.
