Test of English as a Foreign Language

TOEFL assesses candidate’s mastery of English for an academic purpose, applying to a foreign high school, exchange program, community college, or for a student visa.

English Assessment Tests

There are two versions of the IELTS: the Academic Version and the General Training Version.

TOEFL is a suite of tests, the most popular of which are the TOEFL iBT and the TOEFL Essentials exam. Other tests in the TOEFL suite are TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program), TOEFL Junior, and TOEFL Primary. These other forms of the TOEFL are only available to candidate through your provider.

  • THE ACADEMIC VERSION OF THE IELTS

    The Academic Version is intended for those who want to enroll in universities and other institutions of higher education and for professionals such as medical doctors and nurses who want to study or practice in an English-speaking country.

  • THE GENERAL TRAINING VERSION OF THE IELTS

    The General Training Version is intended for those planning to undertake non-academic training or to gain work experience, or for immigration purposes. It is generally acknowledged that the reading and writing tests for the Academic Version are more difficult than those for the General Training Version, due to the differences in the level of intellectual and academic rigor between the two versions.
