Computer Based Test

CBT or ‘Computer Based Test‘ is a Nurses and Midwifery competency based testing for practitioners in the United Kingdom. The test of competency for Nurses and Midwifery is a requirement of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of UK used to assess the skills and knowledge of people wanting to join the Nurses and Midwifery Council register from overseas or rejoin the NMC register after a long period out from practice.

There are two versions of the CBT: the CBT for Nurses and the CBT for Midwives.

  • CBT for Nurses

    The Nurse testing assessment covers Adult Nurse, Childrens Nurse Mental Health Nurse Learning Disabilities Nurse and Nursing Associate. The assessments cover both practical and computer based means of testing.

  • CBT for Midwifery

    The Midwife testing assessment covers all aspects of pregnancy and relations of a Midwife to a pregnancy. The assessments cover both practical and computer based means of testing.

CBT is accepted by most England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is also a requirement for immigration to UK. A CBT result or Test Report is valid for two years.
